- As is true of any world power, Russia is a country of enormous influence. Also common among those who wield power is the temptation to use that power to oppress, control and dominate others. Russia is a great nation and there are significant reasons for them to take pride in their country. At the same time, Russia has a history of leaders who have misused this power by pridefully dominating and even abusing others, both within the country and in surrounding nations. Join us in praying that there would be a spirit of brokenness and repentance of those in the highest positions of authority and power all the way to the lowliest. Pray that believers would lead the way in demonstrating this attitude of humility and willingness to be a source of blessing, rather than oppression or indifference.
- Pray for the groups of women in Russia who meet for prayer in Motherwise groups. In two of the groups boundaries of denominations are crossed. We have Orthodox, Pentacostal, Baptist and non-denominational.
- Pray that God will open the doors to the hearts of business leaders in Moscow, St Petersburg, and Krasnoyarsk to the Gospel.
- Please pray for the political leaders of Russia: President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin

Freedom of religion was written into the constitution after Communism’s collapse in 1991. But the hopes of spiritual renewal of the early 1990s have not grown as much as many Christians had hoped. 90% of Russians have no meaningful link with a church—whether Orthodox or not.
